With arms wide openThere is an island that sits in a pristine ocean under a cloudless sun filled day. On it stands a statue made of an unknown medium, A man with a hat, arms outstreched from east to west and a smile, like welcoming the world into his embrace. Its sculptor is long since gone, as well as the civilization that it used to stand for. Resting alone on the tiny island in the middle of a pristine ocean.
A disturbance in this simple sanctuary. dark clouds and an eerie wind howling from the resistance his outstreached arms. The wind dies down, still at a buffeting strength, but it's howl turned to a wisper.
Then, as though something willed it to bring the statue to an end, a force shatters the man with the outstreched arms to the wind. remenants of the statue cling to their static spaces in the sky, growing, trying to regenerate it's form. while the force continues to break more and more of it away. the sky was quickly speckled, then blotted by the debris from the remains trying to rebuild against
Acended part 2Margo continued to the edge of the forests, where there was an open valley leading to the base of a mountain, near by it was signs of civilization. she scampered into what looked like a road, or a wide trail. She couldn't help buts be excited to see life other than the ones eager to have her as a tasty snack. She pressed forward, almost painfully aware of her fatigue. the chase with the lizard thing had taken a toll.
After what seemed like an hour of walking the city, village or ramshackle shack, whatever was giving off smoke, had gotten no closer than earlier. she collapsed onto her knees and groaned loudly. hoping for a response of some sort, maybe a jogging passer-by. if this were heaven there should be some help. then again... heaven isn't known to have large deadly critters
After her rest, Margo picked up the trail again, however the closer she got the thicker the smell of ash was. the smoke wasn't sign of life... it was a sign of an attack, and there were still people there! She

Ascension"You should go on home, Margo." said one of her teachers. The graduation party the school was holding was wrapping up, and most of it's guests had long gone. Margo gave a small nod, and proceeded toward the bike rack to remove its shackle holding it there. She had always preferred to ride her bike, because she lived close enough to her school that it was no real hassle, and it kept her in decent shape.
She sped down the sidewalk, making a note to be careful because it was already dark. And who knows what crazies were out on graduation night. She screeched to a halt at an intersection, the street was clear but she played good little pedestrian and hit the crosswalk button and waited. Soon enough the light changed and she proceeded to cross. She heard the faint sound of a car approaching full speed, and hurried to finish crossing. Upon reaching the other side she saw a sports car speed through the red light, swerve severely, and then swerve the other direction to su

"Scanning .." the control post monitor read.
"C'mon, C'mon gotta get into the atmosphere quickly!" said the person at it, as the temperature began to rise inside the escape-pod styled ship.
" Complete, atmospheric decent in progress." It said, and started activating processes to aid a safe entry into the planet's atmosphere.
"Good we're clear their ships can't take this type of space." The person said again.
"Entry successful, excessive hull damage, stripping to bridge container" it read, with a red, pulsing backlight.
"Not good." The person said.
The ship hull was jettisoned from the craft, burning upon dispatching, revealing an even smaller capsule, where this person was located.
"Computer, activate any thrusters and brakes on this stupid thing!"
"Activated" it read, still pulsing. The person lurched forward as they sputtered into life.
After the burn of the thrusters they were near landing, going a little faster than a rock being thrown, but with more pot
